Biography
Nat Maikokii was founded in 2006 by eight Austrian and Argentinan musicians who perform modern Reggae with joyful excellence, successfully avoiding any aesthetical or musical cliché. Nat Maikokii, in a unique and surprising way, adds up musical elements from South America, modern Jazz, and a variety of other genres with skillful improvisation.
Either through your I-pod or live on stage, you´ll be moved by their sound. Lyrics written by two musicians from Buenos Aires, Fatima El Kosht and Francisco Perez Mazon, are highly emotional, enhancing exciting Reggae rhythms. Together they create a fascinating musical process of improvisational communication. The band playfully arranges multilingual lyrics in Spanish, French, English, and Portuguese as in a "Tour du Monde".
Good news then for all open minded aficionados of progressive music with an interest in broadening their artistic horizons (at least on an artistic level). For NAT MAIKOKII the term “reggae” does not mean restrictions of any kind, but on the contrary is meant to be the basis of a multifaceted and genre-rich input provided by the band members themselves. The result speaks for itself and paves the way for new musical approaches. It's worth mentioning that the whole project is more than enjoyable, sweeping and easy to dance to. |
